thrown & altered My work responds the continuity of transformation as a mother and artist. I often reflect upon my joyful childhood experiences in nature or with my own children when creating my work. The line work of feathers, leaves or waves often showcase these thoughts. This process allows time to calm my mind and focus on patience, joy and euphoria. Creating the perfect line weight and balance remedies my mind of the disarray of emotion I often feel. I use the wheel to create graceful forms and then alter and carve them to create balance. I add marks to the clay with slips, under glazes and stains to enhance their entire relationship. My glazing process ranges from precise brushwork to controlled overlapping splashes.
Currently, I am in the studio creating sculptures based on raising three little boys. Please visit back soon.
